与EDM同产于荷兰的Hardstyle，虽然不如EDM那样火遍全球，但也算是有自己的大批粉丝。
不同于其他舞曲风格的是，大部分人听到Hardstyle会觉得很吵，甚至有人说Hardstyle的kick有点像敲铁桶发出的声音。
Hardstyle的音色的确是大过了所有其他音色，所以最开始Hardstyle的演出地点都是在一些废弃工厂，旧校园之类的场地，这也成为了Hardstyle的特色之一。
这种听名字就会觉得很硬的音乐类型对于那些本来就觉得电音很吵的人，无异于是雪上加霜。所以Hardstyle很少能有登上主流大型音乐节主舞台表演的，当然某些专属的Hardstyle音乐节除外：Defqon.1、Qlimax等。

而作为硬核音乐中的绅士，Frontliner的音乐既充满了野兽般震撼的鼓点也有古典般优雅的元素。早在2012他就已经入选了DJ MAG百大排行榜，最高排名第37！
被称为“The Melodyman”的Frontliner从11岁就开始制作自己的音乐。他有超过一百多首的迪斯科舞曲，风格与Armin van Buuren 和 Hardwell都比较相似。
