电音资深粉从2011年就开始听说What So Not这个名字。那时的What So Not还是个由Emoh Instead（Chris Emerson）和Flume在卧室创立的组合。几年后，由于两人存在音乐创造方向的差异，Flume在2015年2月份宣布退出，What So Not也自2015年开始完全由Emerson掌控。

EDM veterans have probably heard of What So Not since 2011. Back then What So Not was a DJ duo consisted of Emoh Instead and Flume and established in Flume’s bedroom. Few years later the two had creative differences. 

然而Flume的离开并未影响WSN发行着高质量作品，Emerson在世界各地进行着演出，揽获无数粉丝。2015年WSN发行了可免费下载的《Gemini》专辑，专辑同名曲《Gemini》一经发行在澳洲单曲排行榜上进入第52名，播放量超过4百万次，专辑中包括了和Dillon Francis合作的《Arrows》。

Flume’s leaving didn’t influence WSN keep releasing quality tracks and WSN tours around the world. In 2015 WSN released free download album “Gemini”. The album titled track ranked No.52 on Australia single chart upon releasing and was streamed over 4 million times. The album also included a collaboration named “Arrows” with Dillion Francis.

WSN的作品不是燥耳的重型旋律，而是充满空灵的音色和感性的丰富旋律。与RL Grime和Skrillex合作的《Waiting》可以说是2016年最Fire的单曲之一！时至2018，Emerson终于发行了万众瞩目的首张专辑《Not All the Beautiful Things》，专辑耗费1年半时间，包括了与Skrillex, San Holo, Toto等顶级艺人的合作作品。Emerson解释说，在制作专辑中他远离当下流行音乐的影响，从早期的诸如Fugees, Led Zeppelin, The Prodigy， The Chemical Brothers, Pink Floyd 等人的作品中汲取灵感并试图超越。

WSN’s music isn't as heavy as most EDM tracks but very chilled melodic bass house. The collab track “Waiting" with RL Grime and Skrillex was no doubt one of the most fire tacks in 2016. In 2018, Emerson finally released his long awaited debut album "Not All the Beautiful Things”. The album took one and a half year and included collab tracks with industry heavyweights such as Skrillex, San Holo and Toto. Emerson explains that he tried to avoid current trending music styles and emulate past classic records from Fugees, Led Zeppelin, The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Pink Floyd etc.
