MAZE
That’s how DJ Maze describes his sound. Having a father that was an editor of Denmark’s biggest music magazine in the 1980’s (MM), Maze was hugely influenced by all the records that his father would bring home to the house for reviews. Although his father introduced Maze to a lot of different artists and genres, there were especially two artists that captivated his young ears, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. From listening to the records and tapes of these two legendary Jamaican reggae artists, Maze developed a deep affinity for reggae music and for collecting reggae on vinyl.
Since coming to Beijing in early 2002, Maze has been pioneering Jamaican sound system culture all over China. In 2008 Maze moved to Hangzhou and became very active on the city’s underground music scene as both a promoter and a DJ. Maze also quickly grew a reputation at Shanghai’s premier underground club, The Shelter, as the guy with the heavy and rare reggae selections at the legendary Shanghai By Bus reggae parties.
At the moment Maze is the promoter of two regular parties in Hangzhou; THE RUMPUS (reggae, dancehall, funk and hiphop) and DUB ATTACK (dub, reggae, dubstep and jungle/dnb).
Loosh
"Loosh is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and MC from the San Francisco Bay Area.
He is back in his family's hometown, Hangzhou, playing SAX with Durian （榴莲乐队）& BRICKS (板砖乐队). On top of that he produces original tracks for Foundya！样乐帮.
He also plays and MCs “soundsystem style” with many DJs in a wide range of styles - Loosh has been a part of Hangzhou's underground Dub Attack parties since their start half a year ago, playing over roots reggae, heavy dubs, and everything in between.
On top of that Loosh works with DJs who play house, techno, and other various electronic styles. Whenever he steps up to play his goal is to be able to fit is sound comfortably into any space and keep people moving all night."
